Is power supply available now before the Power Block Exchange is live?

Over the course of 2018, about 500MWe will be available and is expected to increase to about 750 – 1,000MWe in 2019. It is estimated that by the end of 2021 Power Block will grow to about 2,000MWe in power supply capacity.

What is the price of the electricity?

The current power supplies from Power Block are among the lowest electricity prices of any stable, industrialized country in the world. The price of the electricity is dependent on the location, the amount of electricity purchased, and the type of generation. Each supply of electricity will be unique and quoted based on the customer's specific requirements. Entitles miner to a 5-10 year power contract at the indicative prices below:

1-100 mining servers5.0 cents (USD) per kWh

Large blockchain mining operations over 100 servers are negotiated on a case by case basis
Prices are subject to change until contract is executed

How long are the power contracts?

Typically 5-10 years. The contracts are varied, based on the location and power generation portfolio supplying the contract.

How can I secure the power capacity before the Power Block Exchange is live?

Power Block is negotiating with miners, via bi-lateral or two party contracts, for the power capacity. Significant portions can be used now for mining. To begin mining please contact Power Block and you will be directed to the appropriate person to make arrangements.

Where are the power/data center locations?

The first locations will be made public December, 2017. Currently the locations are all in the United States.

When will the Power Block Exchange go live?

Power Block Exchange is expected to go live second quarter of 2018.

What is Power Block Coin?

It is a native protocol coin in the Power Block blockchain. One Power Block Coin represents one (1) kilowatt’s worth of equipment power capacity and associated server space in a facility. It is NOT an ERC20 token.
